Living in a rather anxious and super-fast world, i bet you know the sick building syndrome. I'm pretty sure though, that you may have realized the need for a healthy and sustainable working area.

“How many times have you return with an exaggerated tiredness, irritation or headache after work?.” Just to let you know that 30% of working buildings are sick.
All these symptoms referred to above come as a result of poor sustainability, poor ventilation, or lack of good lighting in the area you work in.

So what are healthy buildings? Healthy buildings are those that have been designed according to some green standards.
First, let's talk about respiratory health. These buildings have treated VOCs with a good material selection and healthy cleaning products. You can see plants almost everywhere, so that can purify the air. Air ventilation, especially the natural one, ensures high levels of air quality.
Then, let's think about hearing health. Several communication problems arise from space reverberation and acoustic discomfort. Search for dividers between the working areas or other kinds of acoustic isolation.
What about vision requirements? Natural and artificial light should be found equally, creating cozy and task areas with the appropriate task lighting. Remember that 300 lux are ideal for working areas and 500 lux for kitchen areas.
Coming to thermal health, ensure there is an adequate temperature for everyone, respecting any differences. Curtains and rugs are a good way for getting the ideal thermal comfort. Try to optimize sun, inviting it or avoiding it when necessary.
Last but not least, make sure that the seatings are anatomic enough to work on. Your posture health is essential as well, so measure each piece of furniture and make adjustments.
Healthy buildings increase our mental performance, our psychology, and our well-being.
